General Manager

Role Summary: The General Manager will be responsible for launching and leading the first German restaurant for a well-established UK hospitality brand. This position combines hands-on operational leadership with strategic organization, planning, and a drive to build a new market presence in Germany. The GM will lead all pre-opening activities, collaborate closely with the UK team, and critically build a capable German management team to ensure a successful launch and a thriving restaurant from the first day onwards. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing a comprehensive business plan for the German market, including market research, competitor analysis, and financial planning. • Leading the pre-opening activities, including site selection, design, construction, and equipment installation. • Building and leading a high-performing German management team, ensuring that all staff are properly trained and motivated to deliver exceptional customer service. • Collaborating closely with the UK team to ensure alignment of strategies, processes, and systems. • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and local authorities. • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. • Identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for growth and improvement, and implementing changes as necessary. The ideal candidate will have: • A proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within the hospitality or leisure industry. • Strong operational management skills, with experience of managing large teams and complex operations. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders. • Strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective business plans. • Fluency in German (spoken and written) is essential.
