This Role The most senior legal role in the business, the General Counsel is a trusted advisor to the CEO and the Board, providing strategic counsel on all legal matters affecting the fund's operations, investments, and reputation. Key Responsibilities Provide high-level legal advice to the CEO and the Board on all aspects of the fund's operations, including investment strategies, risk management, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Develop and implement effective governance frameworks and policies that align with the fund's values and strategic objectives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the fund's legal and regulatory obligations. Provide guidance on all aspects of employment law, including employee contracts, workplace relations, and industrial disputes. Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry associations, and other superannuation funds. Provide strategic counsel on all aspects of the fund's investments, including asset allocation, risk management, and investment strategies. Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure that the fund's legal and regulatory obligations are understood by all stakeholders.
