At this unique location in Den Helder, we are looking for an experienced control room security officer who can maintain an overview under pressure and plays an important role in the coordination of incidents and calamities.

From monitoring camera images and security systems to directing information flows during incidents: you ensure that the right actions are taken at the right time. This makes you an indispensable link within the Defense security organization.

Your workday as a Control Room Security Officer at Defense in Den Helder

Together with a team of colleagues, you ensure that the control room is operational 24 hours a day. From the control room, you supervise the location and respond to reports, alarms, and abnormal situations.

You assess incoming reports, determine the necessary follow-up, and maintain contact with security colleagues on location, Defense departments, and external emergency services. When an incident or calamity occurs, you assist with operational execution coordination and ensure that all involved parties are informed in a timely manner.

You also play an important role in multidisciplinary escalations, alarms, and information exchange. You work daily with advanced security systems, communication tools, and camera surveillance.

Even when multiple situations require attention simultaneously, you know how to set priorities and maintain an overview.

What will you do?

• Receive, assess, and handle reports and alarms.
• Monitor camera images and security systems.

Who you are

In addition, you possess:

• Diploma Security Officer 2.
• MBO level 3 work and thinking level.
• Basic Training Central Alarm Station (BoCA) or comparable knowledge and experience.
• At least one year of demonstrable experience within a control room environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Stress resistance and decisiveness.
• Experience working with automated systems and communication tools.
• Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
• Basic English skills to assist visitors, colleagues, and emergency services.
• An honest and professional work attitude.
• Willingness to work irregular shifts.
