Gardener - Casual

Job Description We’re looking for a hands-on, reliable and experienced Gardener to join our Avonhead Village, where you will be supporting the Property Manager with the day-to-day maintenance of the village gardens and outdoor areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in helping to create attractive landscapes, and values working in a community-focused environment. Key responsibilities: Maintain attractive, well‑kept gardens and outdoor areas, following the guidance and instructions provided. Undertake basic garden maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and watering. Assist with planting, mulching, and fertilizing as required. Operate and maintain garden tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Keep garden shed and storage areas clean and tidy. Respond to urgent tasks and requests as directed by the Property Manager. Assist with general outdoor area tidiness, including litter removal. Report any maintenance issues or hazards observed in the gardens or outdoor areas. What we’re looking for: Proven experience as a Gardener or in a similar horticultural role. A good understanding of plant care and garden maintenance techniques. Ability to operate basic garden tools and equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers). Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Good communication skills. What we can offer: A friendly and supportive work environment.
