Iteration One is an independent, self-financed gaming studio in Karlsruhe. With Nightclub Tycoon - a free-to-play idle tycoon game for iOS and Android - we have built a game without investors and with a small team, which millions play.

We are six people. We grow. And we're looking for someone who understands software development as it is happening: AI takes over the dull stuff – you do what matters. Architecture, decisions, real problem-solving.

Your role

You will work throughout the entire development cycle - from pre-production to live operation - in a small, cross-functional team. You write and optimize C# in Unity, build systems that are efficient and reusable, and write code that others like to work with. Tools like Codex or Claude Code are not an experiment for us - they belong to our daily routine. You establish coding standards with, work on game design with, and ensure that the team becomes faster and better.

No huge ticket backlog. No approval loops. You have real influence - on what we build, and how we build it.

Qualifikation

What you bring

Solid experience with C# and Unity - ideally in the live operation of games. You write code that others can read, and document it so that it still makes sense six months later. You work well across disciplines - with design, product, and art. You realistically estimate costs and deliver reliably. Mobile development for Android and iOS is familiar to you.

Bonus points for: deep knowledge of Unity pipelines (asset management, UI, networking), experience with UniRx, and a good sense of memory and performance optimization.
