Functional Application Manager Backend Platform

Will you help build reliable functional management for applications that our colleagues need daily? 

Who are you

You enjoy getting to grips with applications and processes and bring technical knowledge with you. When a user comes with a question or problem, you don't just want to know how to solve it, but also understand where it comes from.

You move easily between business and IT. You can talk to a user about a business process and then determine with technical colleagues or a supplier what is needed to solve a problem or realize an improvement.

In addition, you look beyond your own application. You understand that systems are increasingly interconnected and therefore take dependencies within the entire chain into account.

We consider it important that you:

• have a Bachelor's work and thinking level, preferably with a relevant education;

• have experience with application management or a similar role;

• have affinity with business processes and information systems;

• can analyze user questions and problems and translate them into effective solutions;

• have experience with testing and implementing changes;

• have an eye for the coherence between applications, processes, and IT chains;

• have experience with Agile working;

• take initiative, take responsibility, and act proactively;

• communicate clearly and collaborate easily with users, IT colleagues, and suppliers.

Experience with applications or processes within Finance, Insurance, or HR is a plus. For example, think of CODA, Crescendo, QIS, or AFAS. You certainly don't have to know them all. We consider it most important that you have experience with application management and that you can quickly master new applications and business processes.

What will you do

As a Functional Application Manager, you are an important link between users, the business, IT teams, and suppliers. You ensure that applications and IT services function reliably and that users are well supported. You work on both daily operations and the further professionalization of management. Depending on your knowledge, experience, and the needs within Backend Platform, you can, for example, work on applications within Finance, Insurance, or HR.

Your tasks include:

• functionally managing and supporting one or more business-critical applications;

• handling and analyzing functional questions, incidents, and disruptions;

• monitoring the proper functioning and continuity of applications;

• analyzing desired changes and determining their implications for the application and the surrounding chain;

• coordinating with users, suppliers, and IT colleagues about problems, solutions, and improvements;

• supporting the realization and implementation of changes;

• preparing, coordinating, and executing functional and chain tests;

• ensuring that changes are put into use correctly and in a controlled manner;

• identifying opportunities to further improve processes, applications, and their use;

• documenting and sharing knowledge about applications, processes, and working methods.

Employment Terms

• Annual salary from € 51,777 to € 71,907 gross per year based on 38 hours, including holiday allowance and thirteenth month, and excluding variable remuneration;

• Employment for 32 to 38 hours per week;

• Location Zwolle or Assen, with hybrid working in consultation with the team;

• A temporary contract with the prospect of a permanent contract;

• 13th month and 8% holiday allowance;

• Variable collective performance bonus of up to 9% of the annual salary;

• 26 vacation days for a 38-hour workweek;
