Fullstack Web Developer WordPress WooCommerce and TypeScript Learning Platform (m/w/d)

BootsschuleX is a specialized online boot camp for the official sport boat license with several thousand participants per year and over 100 partner schools across Germany. We combine modern e-learning, clear growth targets, and data-driven performance marketing. At our company, you will work 100% remotely in a small, focused team with short decision-making paths and direct influence on product, website, and campaigns. Aufgaben

You are responsible for the technical and visual further development of our complete WordPress landscape as well as our own learning platform. You create and maintain our website, landing pages, and funnels, set up new pages with Elementor, and take over not only the technical implementation but also layout, structure, and design. At the same time, you work on our learning platform, which is developed in JavaScript and TypeScript, and ensure stable, well-maintainable functions in the frontend and backend. Together with management and marketing, you bring actions, campaigns, and tests quickly, cleanly, and measurable live. Additionally, you take over adjustments in the backend, for example at interfaces, existing functions, or our API connections, and keep our plugins and systems technically up-to-date.

In particular, this includes

• Creation and adaptation of pages, templates, and landing pages in WordPress with Elementor
• Implementation of designs and own ideas with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in the WordPress environment
• Development and maintenance of our learning platform based on JavaScript and TypeScript, both in the frontend and backend
• Development of extensions and functions in PHP in the WordPress context, for example, custom functions, shortcodes, hooks, or template adaptations
• Adjustments in the backend, for example REST API connections, work on existing systems, and maintenance of interfaces
• Maintenance, updating, and occasional development of plugins, including error analysis and bug fixing
• Optimization of our WooCommerce product pages and checkout regarding usability, conversion, and performance
• Ensuring that all pages and functions work flawlessly on desktop, tablet, and smartphone
• Ongoing improvement of load times, stability, and code quality in WordPress and the learning platform
• Analysis and bug fixing during operation as well as close cooperation with management, marketing, and possibly external service providers

Qualifikation

You fit right in if you already have practical experience in web development and feel at home both in the WordPress environment and in modern JavaScript and TypeScript applications. You don't have to be a pure backend developer, but should be able to find your way around our existing backend and work independently on our learning platform. Currently, we are working with JavaScript, TypeScript, and individual API components in Python.

In particular, we are looking for

• 2-4 years of experience in web development, preferably with a focus on WordPress projects and JavaScript-based applications
• Very good knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, including Flexbox, Grid, and clean responsive design
• Practical experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in the frontend, for example, for interactive components, state handling, and API communication
• Solid experience with backend work in JavaScript, for example, in a Node.js environment, and safe handling of REST APIs
• Safe handling of WordPress, especially theme development, child themes, hooks, template structure, and debugging
• First or good experience with Elementor or the willingness to quickly and independently get started
• Good knowledge of PHP in the WordPress context, for example, for custom functions, shortcodes, or template adaptations
• Experience with WooCommerce or the willingness to quickly get started there
• A keen eye for design, typography, and UX; you recognize when something doesn't quite fit and can improve layout, spacing, and details deliberately
• Structured and independent working style in a remote environment, including reliable and clear communication within the team
• Very good German language skills in writing and speaking as well as English language skills for documentation, tools, and technical resources
• Ideal experience with Python in the API context or willingness to get started in our existing Python components

A formal degree or training is a plus, but not decisive. What matters most are your practical skills, portfolio, and that you're eager to bring BootsschuleX forward with your code and ideas.
