Fullstack Developer NestJS / Angular (m/f/d)

Who we are

Rockstardevelopers, founded in 2015 in Mannheim, with further offices in Stuttgart and Munich. We are a software development company with experience from hundreds of individual projects for enterprise and medium-sized clients.

Short paths, honest feedback, no political games. No hierarchy levels between you and the people making decisions.

Your Tasks

You will work on client projects for large companies and public clients, embedded in their teams, with full responsibility for your area.

• Fullstack development of complex web applications, Node backend and Angular frontend
• Event-driven services: Messaging via RabbitMQ, real-time communication via WebSockets
• Data model and query performance in PostgreSQL
• Co-designing architecture, not just implementing
• Generating, reviewing, and refactoring code with Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
• Code reviews and technical mentoring within the team
• Coordination with Product Owners, UX, and DevOps

Most people come to one of the offices one to two days a week. However, there is no compulsion. You will only be at the client's site for individual appointments every few weeks.

Where you will end up

Depending on the project and your experience:

• Transport & Logistics – Systems with high data throughput and real-time requirements
• Large corporations like Deutsche Bahn / DB Systel (rail-specific domains: timetable management, sales, signaling and control technology)
• Public sector / authorities (e.g., Federal Employment Agency, ITZBund, Bundesdruckerei) – regulated environments, accessibility, security by design
• Enterprise and medium-sized clients from various industries

Experience in one of these environments is a strong plus – tell us where you come from in the questions.

What you bring

Senior level. Our clients need people who deliver from day one and work independently.

Backend Core (we expect this):

• NestJS with TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js)
• PostgreSQL: Data modeling, migrations, query tuning
• RabbitMQ and asynchronous, event-driven communication
• WebSockets for real-time functions
• REST and API design
• Tests are part of our definition of done, not post-work
• CI/CD, Git, Docker, agile working

Frontend (we expect this):

• Angular with TypeScript

Advantageous (not a must):

• Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure
• Monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus), frontend tests (Jest, Playwright, Cypress)
• Experience with modern web architectures and service tailoring
• Accessibility (BITV 2.0 / WCAG AA), DevSecOps / Security by Design

It is important that you are confident in both areas and can quickly get to grips with new stacks. We expect several completed projects for each of the core technologies mentioned, which you can show in your CV.

Project language is German

You will work in the client's team, in German, in meetings and in documentation. We expect German at native speaker level or a C2 certificate.

AI tools are mandatory, not a bonus

Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor: You must be able to work productively with them. Not because we want to be hip, but because our clients expect it and that's how we work. If you consider AI tools a hype and prefer to type everything yourself: wrong company. Internally, we invest in your AI skills.
