We are looking for an experienced Fullstack Developer to support the development, expansion, and maintenance of an internal developer portal based on Backstage. The focus of the project is on building standardized backend services and providing automated onboarding functions for developer teams.

Your Tasks

• Development of technical concepts for extensions and adaptations of the existing Backstage platform, taking into account IT and architecture standards

• Design of scalable, performant, and maintainable solutions, as well as derivation of technical recommendations for future platform extensions

• Comprehensive analysis of the architecture regarding interfaces, plugin structures, and integration mechanisms under organizational and technical aspects

• Concept, development, testing, and documentation of tailored Backstage plugins for the frontend and backend to implement defined workflows

• Implementation of functional and non-functional adjustments to the platform to support organizational structures and role models

• Expansion and configuration of the Backstage backend for binding internal tools, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and identity and asset systems

• Creation and maintenance of a comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture overviews, plugin descriptions, and API documentation

• Ensuring transparency for operation and conducting knowledge transfer and regular updating of project documents

Must Requirements

• At least 2 years of proven experience in designing, adapting, expanding, and maintaining Backstage or comparable developer portals (e.g., based on Service Catalogs, Developer Platforms, or IDP solutions)

• Proven experience in developing and adapting Backstage plugins (frontend and backend plugins)

• At least 4 years of experience in developing backend services with NodeJS, preferably in the context of platform or integration solutions

• At least 3 years of experience in developing frontend applications with React

• At least 1 year of experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Azure DevOps

• Experience with Azure or comparable cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), particularly in the context of cloud-native applications and platform services

• Proven experience in handling Docker and Kubernetes, particularly in operating and deploying platform services

The workload is planned with approximately 90% remote share and 10% on-site presence at the locations Berlin or Brussels
