SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH Specialist Location: Lewisham Availability: Full-time Start Date: Immediate Do you thrive on making a difference for pupils who need a bit of extra support? We’re looking for a calm, confident, and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs . The role You’ll be a steady presence in the classroom, helping pupils regulate emotions, build trust, and access learning. Working closely with teachers and the class teacher to deliver SEMH interventions and support pupils’ individual needs. Key responsibilities: • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, helping them manage their emotions and build resilience. • Work closely with teachers to deliver SEMH interventions and support pupils’ individual needs. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, building trust and rapport. • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities, adapting approaches as needed for pupils with SEMH needs. • Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and psychologists, to develop and implement SEMH strategies. • Keep accurate records of pupil progress and interventions. • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to planning and development of SEMH provision.
