Full Time Bricklayer

RJ13 PTY LTD is looking for a full time Bricklayer to join our team.

Salary - $75000 - $80000

Business Location - Werribee VIC 3030

Responsibilities:

• Reading blueprints and other drawings to determine layout and measurements, noting any special requirements or accommodations for materials or equipment.
• Analysing and interpreting building plans.
• Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding.
• Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading layers of mortar to serve as base and binder for blocks using trowels.
• Using equipment and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks.
• Laying bricks in rows, designs, and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints.
• Checking vertical and horizontal alignment.
• Cutting and shaping masonry materials such as stone, concrete, and ceramics, using power saws and other equipment.
• Repairing and maintaining bricks, cement blocks and related structures.
• Designing and cutting monumental masonry and lettering.
• Constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks.
• Planning, measuring, cutting, drilling, and laying bricks or blocks in accordance with project specifications.
• Installing scaffolding, hoists, ladders, cranes, or other equipment needed for specific projects.
• Mixing mortar, sand, or other ingredients as requested by the project specifications.

Skills and Qualifications :

• Preferred AQF Certificate Ill, or higher qualification in Bricklaying and Building and Construction.
• Minimum of 3 year's industry experience of working as a Bricklayer.
• Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in bricklaying and the construction of buildings.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
