Job description

What will you do:

Please note: Proficiency in the Dutch language is required

About this role

As a Full Stack Developer at Zonneplan, you will build the software that serves thousands of visitors daily and generates hundreds of new customers. From the first website visit to a personalized digital quote, everything is developed in-house, and we are proud of that. No third-party platforms, no external limitations. You write the code that directly determines how tens of thousands of people apply for solar panels, batteries, charging stations, and energy contracts. What you deliver today can have a visible impact on conversion and business results tomorrow.

You will work in a development team that highly values ownership. The frontend runs on React and TypeScript, and the backend on Laravel and PHP. Deployment is done via GitHub Actions, monitoring via Grafana, and error tracking via Sentry. Short feedback loops, sharp code reviews, and the space to truly tackle technical debt. This is how we collaboratively build software that becomes smarter and brings plan Zero closer: making clean energy accessible to everyone.

What we offer:

This is what you get from us
  • A salary between €3,500 and €5,500, depending on your experience and knowledge.
  • 25 vacation days (with the option to buy more) and travel expenses reimbursement.
  • A personal choice budget for sports, groceries, or anything else that suits you.
  • A Claude Code Max 20x subscription as a secondary employment benefit. You will use it for your daily work and are also allowed to use it for side projects and personal development.
  • From day one, we invest in your growth with the Zonneplan Academy, good tools, and room to keep learning. You work with a modern stack and have the freedom to explore and apply new technologies.
  • A team that takes ownership of the entire chain. Weekly refinements, sharp retrospectives, and a culture where your ideas are taken seriously. No bureaucracy, but short lines to product owners and stakeholders.

Agentic Engineering at Zonneplan We are not an energy company, we are an energy tech company. And you'll notice that in how we build. Our entire development department works AI-first: you manage AI agents, pair with Claude Code, and automate what can be automated. Not as an experiment, but as the standard. We are not following a trend; we are shaping the norm in how AI and humans build software together.

Application Process:

This is what the process looks like
  • 1. Apply for this vacancy.
  • 2. Introductory meeting with Samer (recruiter).
  • 3. First conversation with Maarten (direct manager of the position) and someone from the team.
  • 4. Second conversation with someone from the team and a personality and aptitude test.
  • 5. Is there a match? Then we will quickly make you an offer.

Building the energy of tomorrow together

At Zonneplan, we work towards one clear goal: a Netherlands without fossil fuels. We call this plan Zero. No emissions, no waste, no dependence. As a Full Stack Developer, you will build the technology that makes this possible. Every feature you deliver helps customers switch to clean energy more easily. From solar panels and batteries to charging stations and energy contracts: your code makes sustainable energy more accessible to everyone. Together, we are taking steps towards a future everyone can be proud of.

Requirements:

This is what you bring
  • You have at least 2 years of experience with Laravel and PHP and know how to set up a scalable, maintainable backend.
  • You have experience with React and TypeScript and can independently build high-performing frontend features.
  • You write clean, tested code and have a keen eye for quality, from unit tests to code reviews.
  • You have experience with or affinity for AI-assisted development, for example with tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI assistants.
  • You enjoy working in an agile team with stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives, and you take ownership of your work within the sprint.
