Job description

Introduction

We are looking for new colleagues! Migrando is a Legal Tech company from Cottbus. We have set ourselves the task of making the complicated and time-consuming naturalization process more efficient and customer-friendly. With our expertise in immigration law, our legal competence, and a strong team of numerous employees, we successfully guide thousands of clients on their path to German citizenship. It's best to get an insight at migrando(.)de/career, our career page. Because we can write whatever we want here, in the end it remains a boring introduction.

We don't care what certificates you have or where you studied. What interests us: What can you really do? Those who have worked in practice for years and gained hands-on experience bring more than any course completion. We are looking for colleagues who ideally have several years of experience and are ready to take on responsibility.

What We Offer You

With us, you decide what frontend looks like – technically and content-wise. You work with real influence on architecture, stack, and quality – and see the impact of your decisions daily.

  • Modern Tech Stack
You work with React/Next.js, Vue, or whatever the job requires – and if you know a tool that makes our work better, we want to hear about it. No stack is prescribed to you.
  • Visibility
Over 15,000 website clicks daily. You see the effect of your work not after a quarter, but in real-time – in the Core Web Vitals, in the conversion rates, in the user numbers.
  • No Legacy Blockers
You work on new, exciting projects and modernize existing components without having to battle through outdated code.
  • High-End Hardware of Your Choice
Whether it's a MacBook Pro M3 or a Dell XPS with Linux. You get the machine on which you perform best, including 4K monitors.
  • Large Reach
Over the years, we have reached many people with our platform. This large amount of traffic allows us to see results quickly and leads to a meaningful work experience.
  • Small Teams Instead of Open-Plan Offices
You work in manageable teams where people know each other and can quickly get into conversation.
  • Music at Work
We don't frown if you put on headphones. If it helps you (and doesn't bother anyone else), you can also pump Heavy Metal through a sound system at your desk.
  • Modern Old Building Office in the Heart of Cottbus
High ceilings, plenty of natural light, plants in the rooms, and an inner courtyard for breaks. You can get a glimpse of our premises on our website.
  • Ergonomic Workspace with Modern Equipment
Back-friendly chair, height-adjustable desk, two large monitors, a high-quality headset, a powerful laptop, and a quiet environment.
  • Home Office Option
We fundamentally work in the office because collaboration and exchange on-site are important to us. At the same time, home office is possible at any time. Even spontaneously and without long coordination.
  • Trust-Based Working Hours with No Core Hours
We don't have prescribed time slots in which you must be present.
  • Flexible Part-Time Models
Whether it's a 4-day week, 30 hours, or an individual model. Your job should fit your life, not the other way around.
  • Take Spontaneous Vacation
Sometimes you just need a break. We plan our teams in such a way that spontaneous days off are also possible, without stress or guilt.
  • Family-Friendly Culture
Sick children, parent-teacher evening, or a short-notice doctor's appointment – we know that such situations are part of everyday life. Family and health come first here.
  • Short Communication Channels
With us, you don't have to navigate through hierarchies or write long emails to be heard. You can talk directly to colleagues, team leads, or management at any time. Decisions are made quickly, communication is direct, and no one sits in an "ivory tower".
  • Shape Instead of Just Work
We are looking for colleagues who think along. If you have an idea on how a process can be improved, a tool would be useful, or a workflow could function smarter, then you will be heard.
  • Meaningful Work
Your activity has a direct impact on people's lives. You support them in arriving in Germany, finding security, and starting a new chapter. This is not dry office work – it is work with real meaning and tangible impact.
  • Feel-Good Offers In-House
Our feel-good manager regularly ensures small breaks – from neck and shoulder massages to short relaxation and beauty sessions to moments to take a breath.
  • Regular Team Events
We like to celebrate. Summer party by the lake, cozy Christmas party, Halloween party, joint lunches, or after-work dinners with the department. Our events ensure that we grow together as a team and can put everyday work aside for a while. But don't worry: attendance is not mandatory and leaving early is not a problem.
  • On-Site Fitness Room
Our own fitness room is available to you directly in the building – free of charge, well-equipped, and accessible at any time.

Possible Areas of Responsibility

You are the link between design and a functioning product. You work closely with UX/UI, backend, and marketing – not as an implementer, but as a technical sparring partner. You contribute when a design cannot be implemented performantly, suggest alternatives, and actively contribute to the quality of the overall product.

  • Development of Responsive UIs
You develop modern, performant user interfaces and new features, whether for our website, apps, internal tools, or future projects.
  • Implementation of Modern Frameworks
You build modular components and complete frontend applications with modern JavaScript frameworks like React/Next.js, Vue.js, or Svelte.
  • UX/UI Translation
In close cooperation with our UX/UI team, you will convert Figma designs into code.
  • Landing Pages
You build performant landing pages for marketing campaigns, consider A/B tests from the outset, and understand that user guidance is as much your responsibility as clean code.
  • Development of Our Tools
You design and optimize processes such as upload pipelines, form logic, validations, and step-by-step flows.
  • Creation of Dashboards
You develop custom tools and dashboards based on existing data and interfaces that truly advance our internal processes.
  • Performance Optimization
You analyze and improve our Core Web Vitals (LCP, FID, CLS), optimize page speed and loading times, and use tools like Lighthouse to make our products measurably faster.
  • API Integration
You integrate REST and GraphQL APIs into the frontend, ensure stable data flows, and handle error handling, caching, and logical UI reactions.
  • Page Builder Development
Occasionally, you will support the web design team in implementation in Elementor or Bricks – you know when this makes sense and when your own template is better.

Your Profile

We don't care about degrees or certificates – but about experience and real know-how. You haven't just tried Frontend, you've actually done it: components that scale. Interfaces that perform. Code that others understand. We are looking for colleagues who ideally have several years of experience and are ready to take on responsibility. If you bring this and want to take on real responsibility here, we look forward to getting to know you.

  • Solid Foundations in Web
You have good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 (preferably also with SASS/LESS), and modern JavaScript. A clean structure, modular thinking, and reusability are important to you, and you want to develop further in precisely these areas.
  • Experience with Modern Frameworks
You have already worked with React, Vue, Svelte, or Angular and have built real features with them, and you know which decisions play a role in this.
  • AI-Assisted Programming
AI is not new territory for you. We provide you with all common LLMs and expect you to independently optimize your work steps and find solutions.
  • Performance Optimization
Lazy Loading, Bundling, Caching, WebP – you don't think of performance as a subsequent optimization, but from the very beginning.
  • Documentation & Structure
You enjoy writing clear, understandable code and document important things concisely.
  • Willingness to Learn
You are eager to try new things and integrate modern web technologies into everyday work.
  • No Formal Requirements
You don't need a degree or 30 further training courses. We want to find talent and capable new colleagues. Even if you don't meet all the points here – we are looking for experienced and responsible colleagues; ideally, you have been active in this field for many years and have gained a lot of learnings. Because that's exactly what we're interested in: clean, robust long-term solutions. And you usually only get those after having to learn them the hard way for a while.
  • Simple Communication
You are communicative and open. We don't really want to write generic things here, but this point is important. Good collaboration often trumps pure know-how. A colleague with whom collaboration is pleasant and smooth can be more valuable in everyday life than someone with more know-how with whom communication is rather sluggish.
  • German or English
You speak German or English, or preferably both (approx. B2 level). Don't worry, we don't expect proof of language level.
