Freelance Railway Vehicle Engineer (m/w/d)

We are currently looking for a freelance railway vehicle engineer (m/w/d) for our client in the rail vehicle sector.

Start: earliest 07.01.2026

Duration: 6 months

FTE: full-time (38.5 hours/week)

Location: Tyrol (100% on-site training, later hybrid work possible)

Your tasks

• Planning, organization, and implementation of all approval processes for railway vehicles in close coordination with the project leadership.
• Coordination and communication with authorities, inspection bodies, experts, and external suppliers.
• Conducting the requirements capture process in our company's own database.
• Preparation and participation in documentation of proof and approval documents.
• Accompanying audits, type tests, and prototype inspections on railway vehicles.

Your profile

• Completed technical vocational training or studies with knowledge in electro- and/or mechanical construction.
• Multiple years of experience in the approval of railway vehicles (mainline).
• Knowledge of European regulations and standards in the field of rail technology.
• System knowledge in the field of railway vehicles.
• Safe handling of MS Office; CAD knowledge is an advantage.
• Fluent English and written German skills.
• Structured, goal-oriented work style and high sense of responsibility.
• Analytical thinking and developed communicative skills.
• Ability to cope with stress and willingness to travel.
