Freelance QA Tester / Software Tester (m/f/d)

– Few hours/week For a growing SaaS startup (10 people, 4 developers)

About Us
We are a small, agile SaaS team looking for support in the testing process before our production deployments. Currently, our Product Manager handles this – we want to outsource this task to an experienced, reliable person.

**Scope: 5 hours/week, flexible scheduling
**

• Remote possible
• Regular rhythm (e.g., before each release, approx. [X] times/week)
• Start: by arrangement
• Compensation: based on experience, hourly rate

Responsibilities

• Manual testing of new features and bug fixes based on tickets (Jira/Linear/etc.) in the status "Testing"
• Regression tests: ensuring that existing functionality is not broken by new changes
• Verification that acceptance criteria and bug fixes are actually met
• Exploratory testing: actively looking for edge cases and unexpected behavior
• Clean documentation of bugs (reproduction steps, screenshots/videos, priority) and creation of follow-up tickets
• Close coordination with the Product Manager and developers

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in (manual) software testing, ideally in a SaaS/web app environment
• Independent, reliable working style as a freelancer
• Experience with Jira (or comparable ticket systems) is an advantage
• Structured, precise working method – you find bugs that others overlook
• Basic understanding of web technologies (APIs, browser devtools, different devices/browsers)
• Nice-to-have: Experience with test automation (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium) – also as a basis for future collaboration
• Good communication in German and/or English
