Freelance Pattern Maker for Functional Underwear (m/w/d)

Finn Design develops high-quality functional underwear for everyday use. Our focus lies on comfort, fit, and functional added value – particularly in anti-sweat shirts, shorts, and close-fitting basics.

We are looking for experienced support in the field of clothing technology, pattern development, and prototype creation on a freelance basis to further develop and optimize our existing products.

The focus is on improving existing shirts with regard to cut, grading, size tables, fit, and functionality. In addition to conceptual and technical work, we also value practical implementation: You should be able to create patterns or prototypes yourself to directly test and evaluate new cutting solutions.

Tasks

• Analyze existing functional shirts and underwear products with regard to fit, cut, comfort, and functionality
• Optimize cut, grading, and size tables for different sizes
• Develop concrete improvement proposals for existing products
• Create, adapt, and test patterns
• Sew prototypes yourself to practically check new cutting solutions
• Evaluate fit, stretch behavior, processing, sewing, and wear comfort
• Support in creating or revising technical product documentation
• Closely coordinate with our founding team on product requirements, target group, and implementation possibilities

Qualification

• Experience in clothing technology, pattern development, construction, or pattern making
• Very good understanding of close-fitting, elastic clothing items
• Experience with jersey, stretch materials, underwear, sportswear, activewear, shapewear, or similar product groups
• Safe handling of grading, size tables, and fit optimization
• Able to sew patterns or prototypes yourself as an advantage
• Techical understanding of processing, sewing, material behavior, and wear comfort
• Structured, solution-oriented, and reliable working style
• Experience with functional clothing is a plus
• Experience with tech packs, production documentation, or supplier communication is also an advantage
