Founding Senior Full-Stack Developer - New B2B SaaS AI venture

The opportunity

We're launching a new vertical SaaS business within Valsoft to build an AI-powered communications platform for skilled trades and home services, and we need a Founding Senior Full-Stack Developer to architect and build it from the ground up.

Skilled trades and home services businesses are experiencing unprecedented demand, yet most are losing revenue daily due to operational bottlenecks that legacy business systems can't solve. Our AI platform will autonomously manage customer calls, book appointments, and handle follow-ups, capturing lost revenue and freeing trade professionals to focus on their craft instead of their calendars.

The market is large, fragmented, and proven. Established players have demonstrated strong demand and rapid adoption, validating both willingness to pay and urgent need. As Founding Senior Full-Stack Developer, you'll architect the platform, be the first technical hire working directly with the CEO / founding team, and own the technical execution, backed by Valsoft's capital, infrastructure, and portfolio resources to move fast and win.

What you'll be doing

• Architect and build an AI product from 0→1: prototype, MVP, and initial production release

• Build cloud services on AWS with serverless and containerized components (e.g., AWS Lambda, Docker, Fargate/ECS/EKS) for scalability and resilience

• Optimize performance & reliability for high-concurrency voice interactions (latency budgets, error budgets, observability)

• Measure what matters: set up metrics for containment/conversion, latency and cost per successful task

• Raise the bar: code reviews, design docs, and contribution to on-call with clear SLOs

• Champion best practices in product development, scalability, and system design

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or 5+ years of equivalent experience) with hands-on ML / AI systems experience

• Prior experience building with LLMs, agents, or voice AI systems and strong interest in applied GenAI in real-world environments

• Profound knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript with a focus on building serverless and containerized applications

• Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive under operational pressure

• AI-First mindset: Actively using AI efficiency tools to accelerate development, with an understanding of prompt engineering and agentic systems

• Clear, concise communication; ability to turn ambiguous goals into stable designs

Good to have:

• Experience scaling AI products in production

• Previous startup or 0→1 product experience

• Expertise in AWS technologies beyond the basics, such as AWS ECS, EKS, and Fargate

What you’ll own

• Technical foundation: You'll build the core platform from scratch and own the codebase as it scales

• Architecture decisions: You'll shape the technical stack, infrastructure, and engineering practices

• Product impact: Your code will directly solve real problems for thousands of trade professionals
