Foundation Year Doctor / GP / Overseas Trained Doctor

NexHire Medical is delighted to be working with a welcoming and well-regarded GP surgery located in Birmingham City Centre. We are currently seeking a Foundation Year Doctor, GP, or Overseas Trained Doctor to join the practice on an ad-hoc basis, with a strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive practice setting, particularly for international doctors or those seeking flexible working arrangements.
Main Duties of the Role:
Carry out a range of clinical administrative work, including:
Reviewing and actioning Path Links
Managing acute prescription requests
Undertaking clinical coding
Supporting additional routine clinical admin tasks as required
Collaborate with the clinical and non-clinical team to support the smooth operation of the practice
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the practice’s clinical systems
Uphold standards of clinical governance, confidentiality, and data protection
Communicate effectively with healthcare colleagues to ensure continuity of patient care
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Foundation Year Doctor, GP, or Overseas-trained Doctor (with eligibility to work in the UK)
Confident in using clinical IT systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and professional accountability
Commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience in a primary care or general practice environment
Familiarity with EMIS Web
Understanding of QOF, CQC standards, and NHS safeguarding policies
Strong time management, organisational skills, and adaptability
Proactive approach to patient care and clinical administration
