Your Role as a Forward Deployed Product Strategist

You combine strategy, product thinking, hands-on execution, and account ownership.

Together with our clients, you identify the most relevant Data & AI opportunities and drive them with our Forward Deployed Engineers from discovery and validation through to productive use and scaling.

Your success is not measured by slides, features, or backlogs, but by what is actually used, achieves measurable business impact, and can be further scaled with the client.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

You are responsible for Data & AI opportunities end-to-end – from Discovery to Production – taking on strategic, commercial, functional, and technical responsibility:

• Opportunity Discovery: You work directly with business managers, executives, and users, understand their processes and challenges, and identify the Data & AI opportunities with the greatest potential business impact.

• Account Ownership & Growth: You are a central point of contact for the client, develop a coherent vision for the use of Data & AI, and strategically expand existing engagements through new, value-adding opportunities.

• Product Discovery & Prioritization: You translate complex business problems into concrete product and solution hypotheses, prioritize based on business value, feasibility, and user needs, and decide what needs to be validated first.

• Rapid Prototyping (0-to-1): You build initial working prototypes yourself, test them with real users, and use the insights gained to quickly decide on further development, adaptation, or termination.

• Production & Scale: Together with our Forward Deployed Engineers, you further develop validated prototypes into robust, production-ready solutions. As the owner of the opportunity, you remain responsible from the initial concept through to productive use and scaling.

• Partnership with Forward Deployed Engineers: You work closely in tandem with our engineers. You contribute business context, product thinking, and rapid prototyping; together, you combine these with engineering excellence and integrate solutions into existing architectures, data landscapes, and processes.

• Executive Stakeholder Management: You act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive stakeholders, advising them on AI potentials, investment decisions, priorities, and technological and business trade-offs.

• Outcome Ownership: You take responsibility for the result – not just for deliverables. Productive use, adoption, business impact, and sustainable scaling of successful solutions are crucial.

What you bring – your skills & experience

• Business Value Orientation: You can structure complex and initially unclear business problems, identify the key levers, and derive prioritized, actionable Data & AI initiatives from them.

• Product Thinking: You think from the perspective of the problem and user needs, formulate hypotheses, validate early, and consistently prioritize based on impact rather than the number of features.

• Executive Stakeholder Management: You have experience advising senior and executive stakeholders on technological possibilities, business value, and trade-offs – from pre-sales and discovery to implementation and further development of existing engagements.

• 0-to-1 Delivery: You have a demonstrable track record of quickly building something testable from an idea, validating it with real users, and iterating based on feedback, data, and operational results. Builder mentality instead of pure slide production.

• High Agency: You take responsibility, create clarity in unstructured situations, and make progress even when the problem, scope, or solution path are not yet fully defined at the beginning.

• Handling Complexity: You can handle complex processes, established system landscapes, and large, unstructured, or qualitatively heterogeneous data sets without losing focus on quick results.

• Hands-on AI & Technology: You have solid technical understanding and practical experience in developing Data & AI applications – for example, with Python, APIs, LLMs, and modern AI toolchains. You can build a working prototype yourself and meet technical teams on an equal footing.

• Commercial Mindset: You recognize where further potential arises from a successful use case and can develop new initiatives and long-term engagements with the client from this.

Education

You have a degree in (Business) Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration with a technical focus, or a comparable field. However, we place even more importance on you bringing relevant practical experience and a demonstrable track record.

Language Skills – German is essential for this role

You have fluent, business-fluent German skills, as you will be working independently with German-speaking stakeholders up to the executive level. Business-fluent English is also a prerequisite.
