Professorship of Software-Based Administrative Automation (m/w/d)

The Professorship of Software-Based Administrative Automation is to be filled at the earliest possible date for a period of three years. After the expiration of the term, depending on the available budget, an extension is planned. The appointment will take place in an external employment relationship, which is linked to salary group W 2 and allows performance-related remuneration in accordance with Section 34 of the Saxon Salary Act. If the financial possibilities are created, a professorship without further announcement is possible. The Professorship will be enabled by a foundation of Lecos GmbH. Lecos GmbH is an established company for municipal IT and digital transformation in the public sector. As an IT partner of local authorities, the company has been supporting municipalities since 2001 in particular, organizing and improving administrative processes with modern information technology. The Professorship will focus on conceiving, developing, introducing, and operating software systems that contribute to automating administrative processes. The entire software lifecycle will be at the center: from requirements analysis to design, implementation, operation, further development, and quality assurance. In addition to research, it is the goal to enable students to design and control automated procedures, KI-based decision-making processes, and digital administration platforms methodologically. The Professorship will be responsible for teaching and conducting research in the field of software engineering, with a focus on administrative automation. The professor will be expected to teach courses and supervise students in their research projects. Requirements: 1. A completed university degree in the field of computer science, business informatics, public administration informatics, or a comparable field. 2. Pedagogical aptitude and high school didactic knowledge, which is typically demonstrated through independent teaching activities, experiences in training or participation in further education in high school didactics, and especially through a trial lecture. 3. Special ability to conduct scientific work, which is typically demonstrated by the quality of a dissertation. 4. Special achievements in applying or developing scientific knowledge and methods in a five-year professional practice, at least three years outside the university sector, with a focus on the above-mentioned field of software engineering. The appointment requirements are based on Section 8(3) of the Meißen University Act and Section 59(5) and (6) of the Saxon Higher Education Act. In addition, the professor will be expected to take on duties in other departments and participate in regular methodological-didactic further education.
