Job description
About the Company
Vadpak Transport Division Pty Ltd is a freight transport operator servicing regional Victoria and interstate routes. Founded in 2011, the business runs a modern fleet of heavy commercial vehicles and supports a wide range of commercial clients with bulk and palletised freight services. The company has built its reputation on reliability, safety, and consistent delivery performance. With freight volumes increasing across existing and new contracts, Vadpak continues to expand its workforce to maintain service standards and meet operational requirements.
Role Purpose
This role supports daily freight handling operations by safely and efficiently operating forklifts to load, unload, and move palletised goods. The position ensures the smooth flow of freight through the depot, accurate staging for dispatch, and compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload palletised freight from trucks, trailers, and storage areas.
- Move, stack, and stage goods within the warehouse and yard according to dispatch schedules.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any faults or maintenance issues.
- Ensure freight is handled without damage and verify load integrity before dispatch.
- Follow safe operating procedures, traffic management plans, and WHS requirements at all times.
- Accurately scan, label, or record freight movements as required by depot processes.
- Assist in the preparation, organisation, and consolidation of loads for linehaul vehicles.
- Secure freight on pallets and ensure correct weight distribution and load stability.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to coordinate tasks.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in loading areas, storage bays, and work zones.
- Follow company quality controls to reduce errors, delays, and freight discrepancies.
- Support stock rotation and inventory checks when required.
- Handle manual lifting tasks where needed, following safe work practices.
- Adhere to company policies on safety, conduct, reporting, and equipment use.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting operational or safety enhancements.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year experience operating forklifts in a transport, logistics, or warehouse environment.
- Valid LF forklift licence (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Strong understanding of safe loading practices, freight handling, and warehouse procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions, work under pressure, and maintain accuracy with time-critical tasks.
- Reliable, disciplined, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a practical, safety-first mindset.
Why Join Us
- Stable, full-time role with a growing business backed by solid financial performance.
- Modern equipment, structured processes, and a safety-driven work environment.
- Opportunities for skill development and long-term career progression within the transport division.
- Supportive team culture where reliable, hard-working staff are valued.
