FMEA Moderator/ Consultant (m/f/d) - VDA & more

QMH Consulting supports companies from the automotive, MedTech, mechanical engineering, and electronics industries in integrating FMEA into their processes in a standard-compliant, audit-proof, and practical manner.

For this, we are looking for an FMEA Moderator / Consultant (m/f/d) who can lead projects with methodological expertise, guide teams structurally through the 7 steps, and create results that pass audits and have an impact in everyday life.

• Moderation of Design and Process FMEAs according to AIAG/VDA in development and series projects

• Structuring and execution of the 7 steps including functional, failure, risk, and action analysis

• Documentation in APIS, PLATO, or customer-specific tools; maintenance of structure and network views

• FMEA Reviews: Plausibility, completeness, and effectiveness checks; derivation of improvements

• FMEA process setup: roles, templates, timings, interfaces (APQP, Control Plan, SPC)

• Training & coaching of specialist departments up to moderator qualification

• Preparation for customer/auditor requirements (e.g., VDA 6.3) and support with approvals

• Close collaboration with development, quality, production, suppliers, and project management

• Technical degree or comparable qualification (e.g., Technician/Master Craftsman)

• Practical experience in FMEA moderation (D-/P-FMEA) according to AIAG/VDA – ideally in automotive or regulated industries

• Proficient in APIS or PLATO (alternatively, quick comprehension for new tools)

• Experience in process/product development, quality, or production

• Methodological confidence, clear communication, and stringent moderation of heterogeneous teams

• Very good German language skills; willingness to travel for workshops at the customer's site (as needed)
