Your role as Floor manager helicopter maintenance Chinook at the Royal Air Force

You are responsible for the coordination, organisation and monitoring of maintenance activities within the docks. You ensure that all maintenance processes are carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures and quality standards and inform the personnel about guidelines, tasks and work packages. You play a key role in dealing with malfunctions and discussing repairs and modifications with the team. In addition, you perform checks on the work performed and Planning Cards, ensuring that everything meets airworthiness and quality requirements.

You also monitor the preconditions that are essential for the maintenance of the Chinook. This means that you ensure that sufficient resources, people and procedures are available, you make capacity overviews and supervise material stocks. In addition, you are responsible for monitoring the progress of work and correctly changing complaints in the maintenance system.

An important part of your work consists of managing regulations and safety policy. You evaluate technical manuals and ensure that they are up-to-date, while also monitoring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. You ensure operational safety by ensuring that the correct safety measures are applied and support any environmental actions.

Finally, you lead the assigned personnel and act as the first point of contact within the team. You conduct performance reviews, assess personnel and coordinate the training needs within the team, while also being responsible for the execution of associated PeopleSoft tasks. In addition, you ensure a balanced leave planning, participate in weekly progress checks and supervise the training process of the team, including the planning and execution of On-the-Job Training.

Job requirements

  • You have a completed Mbo-4 diploma in a technical direction, preferably in aircraft maintenance technology.
  • You have several years of maintenance experience on the Chinook and you also have experience as a manager. BVB experience is mandatory.
  • You have an eye for detail and work accurately and according to the applicable regulations.
  • You are responsible, results-oriented and decisive. Moreover, you are a real team player, who likes to work together and communicates well with colleagues.
