Firewall Specialists (Freelance): Maintenance & Audit of Perimeter-Security

We are looking for freelance Firewall Specialists immediately and on a case-by-case basis in Berlin:

Firewall Specialists who regularly inspect and update our network security as needed.

Tasks

Your Task Area

• Review and maintenance of existing firewall rule sets
• Analysis and cleaning of outdated or redundant rules
• Firmware updates and patch management of firewall appliances
• Support for setting up VPN tunnels and segmentation
• Safety audit: checking for open ports, unwanted releases
• Documentation of all changes and recommendations

Our Environment

• pfsense + and C.E.
• VPN: IPsec / WireGuard / SSL-VPN
• Network: VLANs, three-tier topology (Core/Distribution/Access)

Qualification

You bring:

• Proven experience with Enterprise firewalls
• Understanding of network topologies, routing, and segmentation
• Safety awareness and confidential handling of access data
• Readiness for occasional on-site appearances in the Berlin area
• Certifications (NSE, CCNA Security, etc.) are a plus, but not a must
