Financial Engineer Semi-Senior

We are looking for a Financial Engineer - Semi Senior

Role Objective

We are looking for a semi-senior Financial Engineer to strengthen our Financial Engineering team. You will join a growing team of 3 professionals, working on the development and maintenance of a platform specialized in investment portfolio management.

You will be responsible for defining and implementing the financial logic of the system, working closely with the development team (Java) and reporting directly to the VP of Financial Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Define the financial configuration of the system (valuation, limits, risk models)
• Value complex financial instruments (fixed/floating rate bonds, swaps, forwards, derivatives)
• Participate in the analysis and resolution of problems related to portfolio valuation and risks
• Take on financial engineering projects and see them through to production release
• Collaborate in the implementation and configuration of the system for new clients
• Work with the development team in translating financial requirements into technical specifications
• Maintain and improve the system's technical and financial documentation

Technical Competencies Experience – Education:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in finance, preferably in operational roles such as:

1. Risk Management/Compliance
2. Front Office (Trading, Asset Management, Wealth Management)
3. Middle Office

• Hands-on experience in valuing financial instruments: bonds, swaps, forwards, and other derivatives
• Solid knowledge of valuation models and portfolio management
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies
• Ability to manage projects and bring them to production completion

Desirable Requirements:

• Academic background in Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a similar field
• Professional certifications: CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or FRM (Financial Risk Manager)
• Experience in implementation or parameterization of portfolio management systems/solutions
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python, R, VBA)
• Familiarity with financial tools: Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar platforms
• Experience in financial companies or fintechs with an investment focus

Work Modality:

• Hybrid with the following structure:
• During onboarding (first weeks): In-person at the office to ensure the learning process is as smooth as possible and to facilitate understanding of current processes and projects.
• Post-onboarding: Ideally once a week at the office, with flexibility if objectives and deliverables are met adequately.
