Financial Director

At DeWarmte, we create smart and affordable heat pumps that help homes transition away from gas. We design our products ourselves, assemble them in Utrecht, and, together with our installation partners, ensure they are installed in more and more homes.

We are growing rapidly. With a significant surge in the number of inquiries, a growing operation in the Netherlands, and our first steps into Germany, a new phase is beginning. That's why we are looking for a Financial Director to become part of our Management Team and take full responsibility for Finance.

You will be our fourth MT member and work closely with our CEO, COO, and People Director on the further growth of DeWarmte.

You won't be starting from scratch. Our founders have established a strong financial foundation, with an integrated financial model that has already proven itself during multiple financing rounds and due diligence processes. Now, we are looking for someone to build upon that and take Finance to the next level.

And you will have all the room to do so.

You will develop your own vision for the financial organization, create a financial roadmap, and build a scalable team. You will translate figures into better decisions, challenge existing assumptions, and help us make the right choices as we grow.

We are looking for someone who thinks strategically but also likes to roll up their sleeves. Someone who sees the bigger picture but can just as easily dive deep to solve a financial issue.

What will you do?

As Financial Director, you will be ultimately responsible for Finance and, as an MT member, contribute to the direction of DeWarmte. You will build upon a strong financial foundation and ensure our financial organization is ready for the next phase of growth.

Financial Strategy and Business Performance

• You will develop the financial strategy and roadmap and translate our growth ambitions into concrete plans and objectives.

• You will be a strategic sparring partner for the founders and the MT. You will challenge assumptions, assess opportunities, and assist with important investment and business decisions.

• You will translate financial and operational data into insights that improve our performance, profitability, and decision-making.

Financial Planning, Control, and Financing

• You will take ownership of our integrated financial model and be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, scenario analyses, and management reports.

• You will drive cash flow, liquidity, and working capital and ensure we can continue to financially support our growth.

• You will lead the financial preparation for financing rounds and due diligence processes and provide reports to shareholders.

• You will ensure reliable financial administration, reporting, and compliance, including the further setup of our German operations.

Building a Scalable Finance Organization

• You will develop and lead our Finance team, starting with a Financial Controller, and manage our external financial partners.

• You will improve processes and systems and leverage automation and AI to organize Finance more smartly and efficiently.

• You will ensure clear financial responsibilities and controls, without unnecessary bureaucracy.

You will combine strategy with execution. One day you will discuss long-term strategy with the MT, the next day you will dive into a forecast yourself, work on a financing issue, or improve a process. You feel comfortable at both levels.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Financial Director who combines financial expertise with entrepreneurship, leadership, and a strong sense of the business.

What you bring:

• Extensive experience in senior financial roles, preferably within a fast-growing company or a scale-up.

• A strong background in both financial control and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).

• Experience in translating business strategy into financial plans and concrete results.

• Strong financial modeling skills and a good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and the operational factors that influence them.

• Experience in a hardware, manufacturing, energy, logistics, or other working capital-intensive environment is a big advantage.

• Experience with financing, fundraising, credit facilities, or due diligence is a plus.

• The ability to build a financial function and team, without losing touch with daily practice.

• Affinity with technology, automation, and AI.

• You are proficient in both Dutch and English at a professional level.

• A gross monthly salary between €7,500 and €9,000 based on 40 hours, depending on your experience.
