Together with the Senior Financial Employee, you form the finance team. You will also work closely with the Manager Association and the director, for whom you will be an important financial sparring partner.

Your responsibilities include:

  • You will manage the financial administration related to subsidies
  • You will prepare for the audit and be the point of contact for the external auditor
  • You will advise the board, both solicited and unsolicited, on financial developments and issues
  • You will identify opportunities to further improve financial processes and systems
  • You will work closely with the Senior Financial Employee and together ensure a correct, complete, and up-to-date financial administration.

About the company

MantelzorgNL is the national interest association for informal caregivers in the Netherlands. The organization works daily to support and advocate for the interests of more than 5 million informal caregivers through knowledge sharing, research, advice, and collaboration with healthcare and government parties.

With 30 dedicated employees, MantelzorgNL offers a work environment where social impact is central. The organization is driven by three core values: innovative, collaborative, and impactful. They think in terms of possibilities, collaborate closely, and constantly seek ways to make a real difference for informal caregivers.

Thanks to short lines of communication, an informal culture, and a close-knit team, employees are given ample room for their own initiative and responsibility. This allows them to switch gears quickly, see the direct results of their work, and visibly contribute to a mission that matters.

What you bring

You are independent, analytical, and accurate. You feel comfortable in a broad financial role where you are active both operationally and in an advisory capacity. You think beyond just the numbers, take initiative, and are energized by optimizing processes.

In addition, you possess:

  • A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accountancy, or a comparable financial field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Financial Controller, Assistant Controller, or in a similar role.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end closings, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience within a non-profit organization, association, foundation, or organization with subsidies is a strong pré.
  • Knowledge of subsidy administrations and complex funding streams.
  • Experience with financial systems and Excel; experience with AFAS is a great pré.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial colleagues.
  • A proactive attitude and the drive to continuously improve processes.

Offer

As a Financial Controller, you will have a versatile role with ample room for independence and personal initiative. You will work in an organization with a clear social mission and immediately see how your contribution helps.

In addition, you can count on:

  • A salary between € 3,796 and € 5,890 gross per month for a 36-hour work week, depending on your experience and education (scale 9, collective labor agreement Social Work)

  • Good benefits: 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus in the form of an Individual Choice Budget (IKB), a career budget, and vitality hours
  • A lot of flexibility, including the possibility of partially hybrid working after your onboarding period
  • An informal work atmosphere within a dedicated and small-scale organization with short communication lines
  • A lot of freedom and responsibility in your role
  • A varied position in which you work independently and visibly contribute to our socially engaged organization.
