Financial Controller - Fleet Operations (m/w/d)

The Reederei F. Laeisz counts with around 600 crew members at sea and about 80 employees on land to one of the oldest German companies in the industry. The management of our ships forms the core of our work – modern, international, and future-oriented.

Financial Controller (m/w/d).

As the central interface between the finance department, operational departments, and management, you will make an important contribution to the economic control of our fleet. With your analyses and recommendations, you will provide the basis for important business decisions and actively contribute to the further development of our company.

Aufgaben

  • Participation in planning and budgeting of annual operating costs of our ships
  • Preparation of decision-making documents, analyses, and reports for management
  • Ongoing monitoring of the operating costs of our fleet in collaboration with the technical inspection and crewing department
  • Preparation of ongoing monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Sparring partner for management and operational departments on financial issues, projects, and special tasks
  • Communication with customers/partners regarding business-related questions and explanation of reports

Qualifikation

  • Degree in Business Administration, Controlling, Finance, or a comparable qualification
  • Ideal candidate with training as a ship's clerk and/or first professional experience in finance & controlling
  • Outstanding numerical understanding and analytical thinking
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications, and ideally experience with ERP and BI systems
  • Structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented working style
  • Communication skills and the ability to present complex issues in a clear manner
  • Good knowledge of German and English in writing and speaking
  • Interest in shipping and maritime economy
