Financial Controller (6 months FTC or Temporary) – Grimsby/Hybrid - £70k & excellent benefits

Benjamin Edwards is recruiting for a highly skilled and qualified Financial Controller to join a growing organisation. As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the company’s financial health, providing strategic insight and robust financial leadership. You will oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and play a key role in shaping the business’s long-term financial strategy. You will be a qualified Accountant on short notice period with experience of managing a team and managing the management accounts and financial reporting process.

The role of Financial Controller

• Lead the finance team, managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting cycles
• Develop and implement strong financial controls, policies, and procedures
• Prepare accurate management accounts, forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Manage the annual external audit process and completion of statutory accounts
• Control and review of the balance sheets
• Drive process improvements and implement systems to enhance efficiency
• Support senior leadership with budgeting, planning & modelling
• Overseeing the payroll function

The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and regulatory compliance expertise
