Job description

As a Financial Accountant within the Accounting & Control department at Unilabs Nederland, you play a key role in ensuring reliable financial reporting, compliance with laws and regulations, and continuous improvement of our processes. You combine a sharp financial insight with an eye for detail and quality, and thus directly contribute to the transparency and financial health of our organization.

You report to the Finance Manager and work closely with colleagues from FP&A, Business Control and the Global Finance Team. Together, you ensure that Unilabs Nederland complies with international standards, while having the space to implement local improvements.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensuring correct, timely and complete financial reports (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, KPIs);
  • Consolidating, analyzing and reporting financial results to global management;
  • Acting as a financial point of contact and business partner for management and departments within Unilabs Nederland;
  • Coordinating external and internal audits and monitoring compliance with IFRS and Dutch GAAP;
  • Preparing annual accounts in accordance with Dutch GAAP;
  • Leading improvement projects within accounting and process optimization (Lean);
  • Ensuring data quality, compliance and internal control (AO/IC);
  • Preparing VAT returns and supporting VPB returns;
  • Correct reporting of intercompany positions within the group;
  • Managing master data (general ledger accounts, cost centers, segments, bank accounts, VAT, roles and access rights);
  • Identifying financial risks and advising on improvements and policies.

Requirements

    • Completed HBO or WO education in Business Economics, Accountancy or similar;
    • At least 5 years of experience within accounting, controlling or audit;
    • Demonstrable experience with preparing annual accounts, audits (Dutch GAAP) and tax returns;
    • Thorough knowledge of IFRS, Dutch GAAP, compliance and reporting processes;
    • Experience within a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus;
    • Affinity with the healthcare sector is a plus;
    • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English;
    • Proactive, analytical and structured working style – you take initiative, see connections and work accurately.

    Benefits

    • A gross annual salary between €65,000 and €75,000 (based on 36 hours per week, possibility of 40 hours);
    • A 13th and 14th month as a fixed component of your salary;
    • Employment conditions in accordance with the CAO Hospitals (including 63 PLB hours, excellent pension and travel allowance);
