Financial Accountant Contract

This for purpose organization works to empower individuals and communities with the knowledge around financials, in determination to create an equitable and prosperous society for everyone. They help by providing specialised services in property management, strategy, financial accounting, and investment funds. This fixed term role was created to assist with a smooth transition as the organization migrates to Xero, by providing accounting services to parishes. The right person will take on transactional accounting tasks and completion of financial reports, to aid and support which will create space for the system migration to take place.

Reporting to the Head of Finance this role will be responsible for:

• Processing Transactions, reconciliations and reporting
• Assisting with migration to Xero including set-up, configuration and validation
• Ensuring compliance with financial policy and procedures
• Liaising with Stakeholders to support financial operations, and support queries
• Working with the Finance Team to ensure accuracy, timeliness and consistency with financial reporting

You will:

• Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance
• Strong experience within a similar role
• A working proficiency in Xero
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships
• A high attention to detail, holding composure in challenging situations
