Job description

Reporting to the Director of Financial & Sustainability Reporting, with daily interaction with the Vice President of Accounting & Finance, the Financial Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. **Responsibilities:** * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP. * Perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis. * Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes. * Analyze financial data and identify trends and variances. * Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. * Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation. * Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information. * Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed. **Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. * Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience. * Strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP. * Experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * CPA or other professional accounting designation is an asset. **Bonus points if:** * Experience working in a publicly traded company. * Experience with NetSuite. * Experience in the manufacturing industry. **What We Offer:** * Competitive salary * Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision * Paid time off and holidays * Professional development opportunities * A collaborative and supportive work environment * The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others Blackline Safety is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company.
