LIFTED is a strength training company from Berlin. We operate several studios across the city and are opening in Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, and Düsseldorf next. We’re set to become the largest fitness company in Europe. The founding team has built and scaled a fitness company before, and we run this one owner-led, with decisions made quickly and close to the work. About the Role

You will be the first person at LIFTED to be solely responsible for Finance. Currently, Carl, Co-Founder and Managing Director, handles this alongside everything else. From now on, you will build the department with him.

Today we have six studios; by the end of 2027, we will have around 20, in multiple cities. Each opening brings a business case, a budget, financing, and new figures in the monthly closing. Because you work directly with Carl, you will see all of this firsthand.

You will start with daily business: payment transactions, monthly closing, liquidity, planning. As soon as that runs smoothly, you will take on more, up to FP&A, business cases for new studios, and financing.

You will work closely with our tax advisor, our admin team, the expansion team, and the City Managers.

Responsibilities

Finance Operations
You will be responsible for payment transactions, including payroll, leasing, and security deposits. Our admin team handles the preliminary accounting according to clear rules. You will understand the logic behind it, check random samples, clarify new cases, and further develop the rules in Moss.

Monthly Closing & Reporting
You will prepare the monthly closing with our tax advisor, reconcile revenues from partners such as Urban Sports Club and trainer costs, and check the P&L. From this, you will create a monthly report per studio in Helu and reconcile planned versus actual figures.

Planning & Liquidity
You will maintain our planning, which is structured by P&L accounts and cost centers, and keep it updated with new studios and changes. You will plan liquidity on a rolling basis and prepare the documents for banks and partners.

HR Administration
For the time being, you will also be responsible for master HR data, employment contracts, and payroll preparation.

What you will take on step-by-step
With growing experience, you will take on FP&A: budget, forecast, and scenarios, for example, if rent or opening date changes for a new studio. You will calculate business cases for new locations before we sign. You will prepare for financing discussions and increasingly conduct them.

Qualifications

• Education: Completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a similar field.

• Work Experience: 2–4 years in Finance, ideally in a startup or fast-growing company.

• Drive: You want to learn faster than your current job allows and take responsibility before anyone asks you to.

• Setup: You understand the interplay between preliminary accounting, external tax advisor, and DATEV, and have already worked with SKR03 or SKR04.

• Tools: You are proficient in Excel. Experience with Moss, Helu, or similar tools is a plus.

• Hands-on: You tackle operational tasks yourself and build processes that run without you.

• Business Interest: You want to understand why a figure is the way it is.

• Languages: You speak fluent German (C2) and confident English.

• Location: You live in Berlin (or are willing to relocate).
