Our client is a science-based Early-Stage company from the Life Science/Deep Tech field. Its technology enables precise, quantitative analyses in preclinical research with the goal of increasing research quality and reducing animal testing.

We are looking for an experienced person to set up, develop, and maintain accounting and controlling structures as a sparring partner for management and founding team.

The role is deliberately focused, independent, and designed as a standalone position.
It's not about maximum detail depth, but about decision-making capability and a financial system that can grow with the company.

Aufgaben

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Responsibility for accounting and financial operations in a lean setup
• Steering of monthly closings and preparation of the annual closing (in cooperation with external partners)
• Setup and maintenance of a clear cost and project structure
• Selection and introduction of practical finance tools (e.g. bookkeeping, expenses, planning)

Controlling &Planung

• Creation of budgets, forecasts, and scenarios together with management
• Ongoing cash flow and runway analyses
• Definition and further development of central KPIs as a decision-making basis

Sparring & Management-Unterstützung

• Fiscal integration and translation of scientific projects
• Presentation of numbers, scenarios, and decision options for management and investors
• Ensuring a consistent, transparent financial logic against internal and external stakeholders

What this role explicitly is not

• No CFO mandate
• No disciplinary leadership
• No operational bookkeeping

Qualifikation

Your Profile

• Experience in the finance field, e.g. as a finance business partner, financial management, project controller or a comparable role
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and controlling
• Experience in small or growing organizations (start-ups, projects in development phases, SMEs)
• Structured, forward-thinking work style and entrepreneurial thinking
• Pleasure in developing simple, practical solutions instead of managing complex systems
