Job description
LINDERA develops clinically validated AI for mobility and gait analysis. Our solutions are used in care, rehabilitation, and healthcare to recognize fall risks early and maintain mobility. We work with health insurance companies, care providers, and healthcare systems in the DACH region and prepare market entry in the USA as a Delaware C Corp, aiming to be scalability-ready operationally, financially, and for institutional investors within the next 12-18 months.
The Role
This position builds the finance function for LINDERA anew — for the German GmbH and parallel for the US entity. Smart, automated, AI-supported. You will work directly with CEO and CTO and take responsibility for ensuring that every data point, which an institutional investor, a sponsor, or an auditor wants to see, is clean, up-to-date, and available at the touch of a button.
The role is deliberately part-time (25h/week) and targets people who, e.g., want to re-enter the workforce after a family phase — without making any professional compromises. In terms of content, this is a senior position with real design power. Operationally, it's a hands-on role: Whoever empties the mailbox and masters DATEV belongs just as much to the requirement as understanding for a US term sheet.
Tasks
Finance Setup (DE + US): Chart of Accounts, Reporting-Stack, and Closing-Procedures for both entities. US Setup via Mercury, QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Carta, and Fathom/Mosaic. DE Setup via DATEV, in conjunction with our tax consultant.
Investor Reporting: Monthly Investor Update and quarterly Board Package (P&L, Cash Flow, KPI Scorecard, Variance Analysis) — on the level that institutional investors expect. The requirement catalog of US investors is available and sets the standard.
Funding Projects: Processing ongoing and new funding projects with German corporations (BMWK, BAFA, EU programs) as well as US entities (e.g., Department of Commerce, NIH mechanisms). Budget allocation, usage reports, audit trail.
KI and Automation Strategy: Variance Analysis, Reporting-Drafts, and anomaly detection using Claude/GPT workflows. Goal: 60-70% less manual effort at higher accuracy.
Operative Accounting: DATEV accounting, EBICS banking, mailbox, documents, invoices, and payroll in CRM. This doesn't involve AI — we do it ourselves, cleanly and reliably.
Transfer Pricing & Compliance: Arm's-length documentation for the GmbH-US licensing agreement (IRS Section 482/OECD), preparation for due diligence depth.
Cash & Forecast: Rolling 6-month planning, runway monitoring, three scenarios (Base/Up/Down).
Scalability Readiness: Building and curating the data room — structured, auditable, and presentation-ready at any time for investors, partners, and authorities.
Requirements
Fundamentals: Audit-, Tax- or Transaction-background at a Big 4 firm (EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte) on Senior/Manager level — or comparable. 6+ years of relevant experience.
Dual Standard: HGB secure, US-GAAP in basics — or ready to build it quickly. Understanding of corporate group GmbH ↔ US Corp.
Tools: DATEV mastery is a must. Experience with QuickBooks Online, Mercury, Ramp, or comparable US stacks is a plus, not a requirement.
Languages: You converse fluently in German and English. You formulate an Investor Update in English, a BMWK usage report in German — both without any losses.
KI Attitude: You actively use AI, not just resist it. You understand where automation adds value and where the human takes responsibility.
Operative and Strategic: You build structures willingly, but aren't too fine to open the mailbox.
Discretion: Confidential data — Cap Table, salaries, investor communication — are safe with you.
Benefits
In Content Instead of Status: A senior role with building character — German bookkeeping meets US scalability setup. It's rare to have this many hours in a part-time position.
Echt Teilzeit: 25 hours mean 25 hours. We build the role so that it actually works alongside a family.
Hybrid Berlin: 1-2 days in the office (Berlin), rest remote. Core-time flexible.
Payout: EUR 55,000-75,000 gross p.a. at 25h/week (equivalent to VZÄ ca. 88,000-120,000 €), depending on experience. Open for discussion with the right person.
Impact: Direct reporting line to CEO, close cooperation with CTO. You shape the finance architecture that carries us through the next scalability phase.
Mission: Healthcare AI that prevents falls and maintains mobility. Measurable outcomes, no marketing slogans.
Application please with a short cover letter (max. one page), CV, and availability. We respond within five working days.
The process: Initial conversation with Diana (CEO), technical discussion with Reza (CTO) on finance-tech architecture, case discussion (90 minutes), references. We make decisions quickly.
