Finance Manager (Merchandise Planning)

A leading retailer is looking for an experienced Finance Controller (Merchandise Planning) to join their team in Cape Town . The successful candidate will generate, monitor, and advise Category Buyers on the category's financial KPIs and performance to support the delivery of ad hoc initiatives and reports that have been identified. Key Responsibilities Create and suggest business plans that emphasize category-specific expansion. Find process changes that focus on performance, quality, job efficiency, and cost savings. Develop and maintain strong relationships with Category Buyers to ensure alignment between financial goals and strategic objectives. Provide expert financial analysis and insights to support the development of category strategies. Identify and prioritize initiatives that drive revenue growth, improve profitability, and optimize inventory levels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements that enhance financial performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the business, including market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
