Finance Manager / Kaufmännische Leitung (m/w/d)

Our client is a growing, project-oriented company in Magdeburg with an exciting shareholder background. In its function, it takes on a central role in planning, controlling, and implementing complex and challenging high-rise projects.

The organization has developed very dynamically over the past few years and now comprises around 40 employees. As the project size and complexity increase, so do the requirements for financial management and transparency.

In the course of a re-staffing process, the financial function is now being further developed – away from an operational-oriented accounting role towards a shaping, controlling finance function with responsibility for the 'big picture'.

Aufgaben

In this key position, you will be responsible for all financial questions of the company and develop the existing structure consistently further.

You will act as a sparring partner for the management team and bring business perspectives actively into corporate governance.

You will keep an eye on the operational necessities within your area of responsibility.

Your focal points in detail:

• Overall responsibility for finance and accounting (including ensuring proper bookkeeping in cooperation with external tax consulting)
• Further development of financial structures and processes – with a view to transparency, efficiency, and scalability
• Establishment and establishment of a meaningful controlling (including project controlling)
• Preparation of economic, liquidity, and investment plans
• Steering of monthly and annual accounts (HGB) in close coordination with tax consulting and auditing
• Cash flow management and budgeting
• Kaufmännische Begleitung und Bewertung von Projekten
• Point of contact for banks, tax consultants, auditors, and public institutions
• Support for the management team in strategic and operational decisions

Important:

You will take on this role in a lean structure with high self-responsibility ('two-(wo)man-show') and develop it further independently.

Qualifikation

We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and management aspirations, who works 'hands-on' at the same time.

• Degree in business administration or comparable qualification (e.g. accounting with corresponding further development)
• Multiple years of experience in finance and accounting, ideally in controlling
• Experience in growing structures or medium-sized companies is advantageous
• Safety in preparing and steering accounts according to HGB
• Able to interpret numbers and use them as a management tool
• Structured, independent working style and pleasure in building and shaping opportunities
• Strong communication skills and ability to involve non-financial stakeholders
• High IT affinity (e.g. DATEV, MS Office, ideally first experience with digital controlling tools)
