Job description
We are MainTea GmbH. A growing food-tech company from Frankfurt.
With our brands Besser im Glas, Bubble Pop, PRO2BE, Honest Coco, and SMOOOTH IT, we bring innovative products to the grocery retail and e-commerce sectors, while simultaneously developing new brands and product ideas as an operational micro-VC.
With our growth, our financial processes across multiple companies are becoming more complex – and we want to solve them not with more hands, but with better systems. That's why we are looking for a personality in the field of Finance who understands and lives accounting and is eager to rethink Finance Operations with AI and Automation. You will work closely with Management, our tax advisor, and the internal teams.
Tasks
Finance Operations: Responsibility for the group's ongoing financial processes – from accounts payable and receivable management, payment transactions, and document management to preparation for month-end closing and the tax advisor.
Process Automation: Identification of manual, recurring workflows (e.g., invoice receipt, payment reconciliation, dunning, account assignment) and their step-by-step automation with tools, interfaces, and AI agents.
AI in Finance: Building, further developing, and stabilizing AI-supported workflows – for example, for evaluations, reconciliations, reporting, or checking payment advices. You will test new tools and integrate what works into daily operations.
System Landscape: Management and further development of our finance tools (including DATEV, Moss, Xentral, Shopify) and ensuring clean, continuous data flows between systems.
Reporting & Transparency: Building and automating regular financial reports and KPIs for management and shareholders, so we know where we stand at all times.
Interface: Point of contact for the tax advisor and internal teams on all operational finance topics.
Qualifications
Understanding of Accounting: Commercial apprenticeship or degree with a focus on Finance/Accounting and initial professional experience (approx. 1–3 years) in accounting, finance, or controlling. You know what's behind an accounting entry – but you don't have to be a certified accountant.
AI Affinity: You naturally use AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude today and enjoy discovering what's possible with them.
Tech & Process Thinking: You think in terms of workflows and systems. Experience with automation tools (e.g., Make, Zapier, n8n), advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, or initial steps in SQL/Python are a big plus, but not a requirement.
Diligence & Structure: Accurate, reliable, and disciplined work approach with an overview across multiple companies.
Communication: Very good German and good English language skills.
Mindset: Ownership, curiosity, hands-on. You are not satisfied with "we've always done it this way."
