Finance Director
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Business and Financial Leadership:
✓ Acts as the finance business partner to the Management Team.
✓ Responsible for financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.
✓ Supports business decision-making through data-driven insights.
✓ Drives continuous improvement in profitability, cash flow, and operational performance.
✓ Acts as a trusted advisor to the Country Managing Director and leadership team.
✓ Provides timely financial insights to support operational decision-making and risk management.
✓ Leads the implementation of initiatives to improve operating margins, cash flow and ROIC; provides analysis and all necessary information to operational management in order to optimize business decisions and deliver the business plan.
Controlling and Internal Control Framework:
✓ Establishes and maintains internal controls and financial governance.
✓ Ensures compliance with Group and local regulations and with Group Accounting and Financial policies.
✓ Coordinates audit processes.
✓ Manages the timely delivery of all required data, analysis and information for internal and external reporting; ensures data integrity and compliance with all local statutory reporting and legislative requirements.
✓ In conjunction with the local finance teams, manages external entities and authorities at a local level.
Reporting and Statutory Compliance:
✓ Ensures accurate and timely internal and external reporting.
✓ Manages relationships with external stakeholders and authorities.
✓ Ensures compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements. Organization and Team Leadership
✓ Leads and develops a finance team of approximately 8 people.
✓ Drives a performance-oriented culture and capability development.
✓ Develops a highly effective and appropriately qualified finance team.
Transformation and Continuous Improvement:
✓ Drives the development and efficiency of the finance function.
✓ Supports Group-level initiatives (e.g. ERP, Centre of Excellence, Shared Service models).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
✓ University degree in Finance / Accounting / Economics or related fields; professional certifications like ACCA preferred.
✓ Fluent Romanian and English; knowledge of Hungarian is an advantage.
✓ Proven Country or Regional FD experience in a Consumer Goods or B2B oriented company with significant Prodiction, Sales and Supply-Chain activities (ideally food, foodservice, ingredients, hospitality, or related sectors).
✓ Full functional scope covering Accounting, Cash Management, Controlling, and FP&A.
✓ Proven leadership of finance teams; ability to build and lead a lean finance team.
✓ SAP S/4HANA implementation / ERP migration experience is an advantage, including process redesign and post go-live stabilization.
✓ Solid experience in financial reporting under IFRS and local GAAP, as well as managing both internal and external audit processes; familiar with listed Group-reporting discipline.
✓ Experience in project management and growth scenarios; shows good understanding of operational KPIs in distribution, demand planning, sales development, and customer analysis.
✓ Visible, hands-on, on-site leader: strong preference for candidates based in the Timișoara / Arad region or genuinely willing to relocate; available during reporting peaks and occasional weekend closings.
