Finance Associate (m/w/d)

Finton Advisors is a Tech-Enabled Finance & BI Boutique Consulting Firm. By leveraging artificial intelligence and process automation, we support companies comprehensively in the areas of Financial Reporting, Analysis & Business Intelligence.

Our own developed software serves as the basis for data-based work in the financial sector and significantly reduces manual tasks for us and our customers. With a focus on companies from the Private Equity environment, we are close to transaction situations and bring our expertise into play.

Since our founding in December 2023, we have been managing with a small, high-performance team - three founders, one work student, and several tech freelancers - already more than 30 customers. We operate at the locations of Cologne, Hamburg, and Berlin.

Aufgaben

As Finance Associate, you will be a central part of our project teams and take responsibility for creating and developing financial models, reports, and client-facing deliverables. You will work closely with the founder team and be actively involved in customer care and corporate finance projects. As a team, we work in small, high-performance structures with direct customer contact and high self-responsibility.

Your Tasks

• You prepare historical and planned financial data, analyze it, and lead clear recommendations
• You develop and maintain financial models (e.g. budget planning, liquidity planning, KPI models) and ensure their quality and consistency
• You support in onboarding new customers - from data collection to structuring data flows to building scalable reporting structures
• You work closely with existing customers in operational daily business and take responsibility for the continuous development of reports and analyses
• You create and revise presentations (e.g. investor reports, management reports, pitch decks)
• You support as needed in corporate finance projects such as fundraising, transactions, or strategic questions
• You are actively involved in the development of our internal processes and tools - especially in conjunction with our own software and AI-supported workflows
• You work closely with the team and take responsibility for guiding junior team members in the future

Finton combines classical corporate finance expertise with a strong technology-driven approach. We work data-based, efficient, and with high quality standards for our deliverables.

You will work daily with Excel, modern AI tools (e.g. LLMs), and our own software to automate processes and create scalable solutions for our customers.

Qualification

Must-have

• A very good understanding of accounting, finance, and business connections
• Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a comparable field
• 1-3 years relevant work experience (e.g. corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, FP&A or consulting)
• Outstanding analytical skills and high level of structuring and problem-solving competence
• Safe handling of Excel and experience in building and developing financial models
• High quality standards and the ability to prepare complex issues clearly and precisely

Nice-to-have

• Experience with financial models in areas such as planning, liquidity, KPIs or valuation
• First experiences with transactions, fundraising or strategic projects
• Very good communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities independently
• Interest in technology-driven work (e.g. use of AI tools, automation, structured data processing)

Optional

• Experience with accounting data (e.g. DATEV or comparable systems)
• Background in SaaS/Tech companies or understanding of SaaS KPIs (ARR, NDR, etc.)
• First experience in direct customer contact and independent project responsibility
