Aggarwal AG is a Swiss-Indian family business based in Langenthal (BE) and the leading importer and distributor of Indian and international food products in Switzerland. Since 1986, we have been building our business on high-quality products from India, Asia, Africa, and Latin and Central America.

Today, our range includes over 4,000 products in the categories of fresh produce, frozen and dry goods, beverages, and non-food items. We supply gastronomy and retail customers throughout Switzerland and operate our own branches in Bern, Basel, Zurich, and Baden.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced and highly hands-on personality as a Branch Manager who will take responsibility for our daily commercial and operational activities.

You will be responsible for establishing and leading efficient structures, the continuous optimization of our processes, and actively contributing to the achievement of our short-, medium-, and long-term company goals.

Your Responsibilities

As Branch Manager, you will be fully responsible for the daily operations of our Basel branch. You will lead the team, ensure smooth operations, and ensure that our customers feel comfortable with us.

Branch Responsibility and Organization

- Overall responsibility for the daily operations of the branch

- Organization and coordination of workflows and shift planning

- Responsibility for orderliness, cleanliness, and an attractive appearance of the branch

- Implementation and adherence to internal processes and guidelines

Sales and Customer Service

- Leadership, motivation, and development of the sales team

- Active participation in sales and competent customer advice

- Professional handling of customer complaints

- Building and maintaining positive customer contact

- Promotion of sales and achievement of turnover and sales targets

- Identifying customer needs and active support in product selection

- Implementation of sales campaigns, promotions, and seasonal activities

Inventory Management and Warehouse

- Responsibility for merchandise ordering and demand-driven disposition

- Control of stock levels, goods receipt, and product availability

- Monitoring of best-before dates and reduction of product losses

- Ensuring clear and efficient warehouse organization

- Conducting and coordinating inventory counts

- Close collaboration with purchasing, warehousing, and logistics

Quality and Hygiene

- Ensuring compliance with hygiene, quality, and safety standards

- Checking products for quality, shelf life, and operational specifications

- Identifying and addressing quality problems and initiating appropriate measures

Administration and Responsibility

- Responsibility for cash management and correct daily closing procedures

- Monitoring relevant key figures and branch performance

- Reporting to management

- Identifying areas for improvement and independently implementing optimization procedures

- Responsibility for achieving the operational and commercial goals of the branch

Your Profile

- Several years of professional experience in retail, ideally in a leadership role

- Strong customer and service orientation

- Sales-driven and communicative personality

- Organizational talent with a structured and independent work style

- High initiative and strong sense of responsibility

- Hands-on mentality

- Entrepreneurial thinking with a feel for numbers

- Enjoy interacting with people and different cultures

- Good German language skills. Other languages, especially English, are an advantage.

- Experience in the food or FMCG sector is an advantage.
