Field Technician II - Sampling in Chimneys

Description of the job

• Responsible for performing field services, including sampling atmospheric emissions, determining EPA-25A methodology and fugitive emissions, and other external activities, setting up and positioning equipment at sampling points and logistics of materials and samples for the project until delivery to the laboratory;
• Ensure that the laboratory receives correctly collected samples in accordance with standardized procedures and client requirements for productive flow of the unit;
• Coverage of all external operations contracts for the Atmospheric Emissions sector;
• Respect the company's values of health, safety, and environment;
• Collect atmospheric emissions and fugitive emissions sampling samples for monitoring in accordance with environmental agencies' requirements and client contractual requirements for the Atmospheric Emissions sector;
• Collect atmospheric emissions sampling samples according to EPA-25A methodology using a field FID analyzer for monitoring in accordance with environmental agencies' requirements and client contractual requirements for the Atmospheric Emissions sector;
• Perform basic calculations required for technical development of field work (velocity, flow rate, etc.), operate field equipment during service sampling;
• Logistics personal, materials, and samples in a vehicle provided by SGS according to project planning for the Atmospheric Emissions sector;
• Attend training and integrations as demanded by SGS and its clients in the Atmospheric Emissions sector;
• Clean equipment when returning from field work and prepare and check the checklist;
• Perform corrective/preventive maintenance on equipment in the field;
• Solve problems that may arise with equipment during field activities;
• Digitize calculation worksheets for field services; Collect, label, package, and transport samples;
• Lead a team of field technicians;
