Job description

In a nutshell

Are you nearing your Master's degree and looking for more than just a classic career start as a graduate?
Are you seeking responsibility, pace, and real impact in your daily work?

As a Fast Track to Leadership Trainee in Supply Chain and Operations, you'll hit the ground running at Picnic: in just two years, you'll develop from a graduate into a leadership position as an Operations Manager, taking responsibility for teams, processes, and strategic projects along our Supply Chain in fulfillment. Hands-on, data-driven, and with real impact.

What awaits you

Year 1: Operational Foundations & Leadership as Operations Supervisor

  • Onboarding & Kick-off: You'll start with structured onboarding, build a strong network, and get to know our Fulfillment Center (FC) from the ground up.
  • Shift Management in the FC: Approximately 3-4 days a week, you'll take responsibility for a shift as an Operations Supervisor. You'll plan, coordinate, and lead your team – and experience from day one how operational decisions directly impact our teams and performance.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Through mentoring, training in leadership, feedback, and motivation, you'll learn how to develop people, create clarity, and master challenging situations.
  • Your Own Projects with Impact: You'll identify optimization potential in daily operations and independently implement improvement projects on your 1-2 project days that increase productivity, simplify processes, and sustainably solve bottlenecks.

Year 2: Leading with Impact Across Locations as Operations Manager

  • (Inter)national Perspective: Seize the opportunity to bring your knowledge to other Picnic locations – nationally or internationally – or get to know another department along our Supply Chain. You'll take on responsibility in a new environment with new teams and grow beyond yourself.
  • Focus on Projects: In addition to your approx. 1-2 shift days per week, you'll work on approx. 3-4 days on cross-location initiatives, e.g., optimizing our ordering processes or supporting new (automated) FCs. With your operational know-how and analytical eye, you'll take our Supply Chain to the next level.
  • Your Next Step: After the Fast Track, many doors will be open to you: as an experienced Operations Manager or in further positions within Picnic.

What you bring

  • You have recently successfully completed your Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable Master's program, or will graduate within the next 6 months.
  • Initial practical experience in the supply chain environment (e.g., through internships or working student positions)
  • Fluent German and very good English skills
  • Enjoy taking direct responsibility for a team as a trainee and motivating and developing people
  • You translate ideas into successful projects with your hands-on mentality and lead by example
  • Strong numerical understanding and the ability to identify problems early
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for a role that takes place both in the office and in the operational warehouse environment, including shift work

What you can look forward to

  • Hit the Ground Running - With Us: Become part of our international team in an environment that fosters real growth and an "Act like an Owner" mentality. With us, you'll have the opportunity to drive projects independently, test new ideas, and directly witness how your work makes an impact in our fast-growing company.
  • Sustainability at the Core: Be part of the revolution. You'll contribute to a greener future – through our 100% electric fleet and a supply chain that reduces food waste.
  • The Basics: We provide you with everything for your success – including a laptop and mobile phone, as well as access to exclusive employee discounts (Corporate Benefits) for travel, tech, and much more.
  • Time to Recharge: With 30 vacation days per year (for a 40-hour week), you'll ensure the perfect balance between work and relaxation.
  • Catering for Winners: We take care of you. Enjoy a fresh, free breakfast and lunch or dinner every day in our Fulfillment Center, along with plenty of snacks, drinks, and fruit for an energy boost.
  • Unforgettable Moments: We are more than just a team. From our legendary annual ski trip and Christmas parties to performances by our own Picnic band: we celebrate our successes together.
  • Well-being & Balance: We offer you professional support for your mental health with OpenUp.
  • Individual Mobility: You'll receive a company car (also for private use) and can additionally use our "Lease-a-Bike" program.
  • Food Savers: Get our exclusive "Too-Good-To-Go" bags and save delicious food – exclusively for our employees!
  • Learn & Grow: Benefit from internal learning & development opportunities through exciting workshops and intensive bootcamps to constantly expand your skills.
