Fashion Designer - Cape Town

Responsibilities

• Design original clothing concepts in line with seasonal trends and brand identity
• Develop mood boards, fabric selections, and color palettes for collections
• Collaborate with the production and marketing teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with business goals
• Create technical drawings and garment specifications for sampling
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, materials, and techniques
• Oversee fittings and adjustments to ensure high-quality garment construction
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the fashion industry, competitors, and consumer behavior

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design or a related field
• Proven experience as a Fashion Designer in a retail or design studio environment
• Strong portfolio showcasing design versatility and innovation
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant design software
• Excellent understanding of garment construction, textiles, and fashion trends
• Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
