SENIOR FARMHAND – DRYLAND CROPPING Northern Wheatbelt | Western Australia A high-performing broadacre cropping business with multiple farms across the Northern Wheatbelt region of WA is seeking an experienced Senior Farmhand to join its progressive farming operation.
This business operates at a corporate standard with strong focus on precision agriculture, agronomy-led production systems, advanced technology and modern John Deere machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable operator ready to step into a role offering real responsibility and long-term career growth.
The Role
Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will play a key role across all cropping programs including wheat, barley and canola, with responsibility for:
• Operating and maintaining modern machinery for seeding, spraying, fertilising and harvesting
• Working with RTK GPS, guidance systems and precision ag technology
• Chemical handling and application in accordance with regulations
• Maintaining accurate field and machinery records
• Supporting ongoing farm maintenance and improvement projects
• Upholding strong WHS and safe work practices
• Assisting with coordination of seasonal labour and contractors when required
This is a hands-on senior farmhand position with growing responsibility, ideal for someone with strong technical ability and a genuine interest in advanced farming systems.
About You
You will bring:
• 3+ years’ experience in broadacre cropping
• Strong machinery skills across all cropping operations
• High attention to detail and pride in quality farming outcomes
• Interest in precision agriculture, agronomy and continuous improvement
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Clear communication and positive attitude
• ChemCert (or willingness to obtain)
• Current driver’s licence (HR licence desirable)
• Agricultural qualification desirable but not essential
