Farm Manager

Founded in 2020, Groenewald Agri is a dynamic family-operated fruit farming business producing high-quality apples and pears for export to over 40 international markets. Situated between Villiersdorp and Riviersonderend in the Western Cape’s prime fruit-growing region, the company has grown from one farm to five productive units. With continued expansion and a strong focus on orchard performance and quality standards, Groenewald Agri is looking to appoint an experienced Farm Manager to strengthen our team and drive business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing a team of farm workers, and ensuring the highest levels of quality and efficiency in all aspects of fruit production. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing effective farming strategies to optimize yields, reduce costs, and improve product quality; • Managing and coordinating the activities of farm workers, including training and mentoring as needed; • Maintaining accurate records of crop yields, soil conditions, and pest management; • Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless integration of operations and supply chain management; • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes as necessary; • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a degree in agriculture or a related field, at least 5 years of experience in farm management, and a strong understanding of fruit production, marketing, and sales. A valid driver’s license is required, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities is essential.
