Job description
📍 IDF |Data Center | Permanent Contract | On-call 1 week out of 4
Join a critical and rapidly growing technical environment
My client supports its clients in the hosting and operation of critical infrastructures at the heart of the digital economy.
As part of the development of its rapidly growing site, which is regularly expanding, my client is strengthening its Facility team and is looking for a Facility Maintenance Engineer.
This is a new position, you will join a human-sized Facility team and will play a central role in the technical management of infrastructures and service providers, with real responsibility for the quality of operations and service continuity.
You are not necessarily the one who directly intervenes on the equipment: your value lies in your ability to understand the installations, analyze problems, identify interactions between different systems, and challenge service providers on their interventions.
Your Missions
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be involved in all the technical infrastructures of the Data Center and ensure their operational readiness.
Your scope notably covers the following infrastructures:
- High and low voltage electrical systems and their backup systems;
- Climate control / HVAC;
- Fire protection;
- Associated technical infrastructures.
You must be able to grasp the entire system and the interactions between the different infrastructures, in order to anticipate the impacts of an intervention or an incident on service continuity.
Your main missions
1- Manage Maintenance and Service Providers
Your primary role is to ensure the technical management of maintenance contracts and service providers.
In this capacity, you will:
- manage maintenance contracts and monitor associated commitments;
- coordinate and challenge technical service providers;
- prepare and lead review meetings, particularly weekly meetings;
- control the quality of interventions and their compliance with procedures;
- analyze operating methods proposed by service providers and be able to challenge them when necessary;
- monitor technical KPIs and performance indicators;
- ensure compliance with the maintenance schedule and operational requirements.
You are a technical point of contact capable of bridging the gap between the site's needs and the intervening companies.
2- Analyze Incidents and Technical Problems
Analysis is an essential dimension of the role.
When a problem arises, you will be able to:
- understand the situation in its entirety;
- analyze the causes and interactions between different infrastructures;
- assess potential impacts on the Data Center's operation;
- guide the service provider towards appropriate actions;
- challenge an analysis or an operating method when it is not robust enough;
- monitor corrective actions until their resolution;
- contribute to lessons learned and the improvement of practices.
You must therefore be able to take a step back from a technical problem and reason systemically, rather than limiting yourself to an isolated piece of equipment.
3- Support Site Development
The site is experiencing significant growth, with new buildings to be developed regularly.
In this context, you will participate in:
- the integration of new infrastructures;
- the identification and monitoring of technical issues;
- the coordination of various stakeholders;
- the support of projects and site evolutions;
- continuous improvement of installations and operating methods.
Your role will be to facilitate interfaces and bring to light issues requiring action or arbitration.
4- Work Cross-Functionally
You will operate in an environment with numerous interactions.
You will work in particular with:
- the Site Manager;
- the Facility team;
- maintenance service providers;
- project teams;
- cross-functional departments;
- teams in charge of ISO and energy;
- teams involved in audits, visits, and client relations.
5 - The ability to work as a team and share a common goal is therefore essential.
You will also contribute to monitoring topics related to energy performance, ISO requirements, and various site audits.
The Work Environment
You will join a Facility team currently composed of 3 people, within a human-sized and close-knit organization.
This is a new position, intended to support the site's growth and strengthen resources dedicated to technical management.
The environment is dynamic: some processes are still being structured, particularly around incident management.
We are therefore looking for someone capable of building on existing procedures while knowing how to operate in situations that are not always perfectly defined, with pragmatism and discernment.
Your Skills
Your Profile
You must have experience in:
- a critical environment;
- technical infrastructures;
- industrial maintenance.
You possess a sufficiently broad technical background to understand electrical, climate/HVAC, and fire protection environments, as well as associated backup systems.
You do not necessarily aim to intervene directly on the equipment: you are primarily capable of technically understanding the installations and managing those who intervene on them.
Qualities Sought
Beyond your technical expertise, we are looking for someone who is:
- methodical, capable of structuring their analysis and actions;
- possesses a strong analytical mindset, particularly when faced with complex problems;
- has a real team spirit;
- capable of challenging service providers with diplomacy but firmness;
- comfortable in an environment where situations may sometimes lack structure;
- capable of stepping back and understanding the interactions between different systems.
- able to use supervision, reporting, energy monitoring tools, and technical data to detect deviations and optimize performance.
- able to write, challenge, and validate SOP, MOP, EOP procedures within their scope of responsibility.
Your ability to analyze a situation, understand its impacts, and communicate the right message to the right contact person will be crucial to your success.
Benefits
Bonus /year: 2 months' salary if achieved
On-call allowance: €505 / week on call (frequency approx. 1 week/month) + payment of overtime hours in case of intervention
Travel allowance / year: €2512
Remote work allowance / year: €175
Profit sharing: 1.5 months' salary (or more)
Executive Status
On-call
This position includes dedicated on-call duty for the site, one week out of four.
In this capacity, you may be called upon in the evening, on weekends, or outside of usual hours to contribute to the Data Center's operational continuity.
Why join this role?
This position offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing Data Center site, in a particularly demanding technical environment.
You will play a central role in the site's ramp-up, with the possibility of contributing to structuring practices, developing infrastructure, and continuously improving operations.
It is also an opportunity to join a close-knit team that is looking to strengthen its skills and bring fresh energy to its organization.
