Spitäler Schaffhausen as an EmployerSpitäler Schaffhausen comprises the Cantonal Hospital, Psychiatric Services, the Radiology and Cardiology Posthof Neuhausen practices, and the Neurology Schaffhausen Zentrum practice. With over 1,700 employees, we ensure the comprehensive medical and nursing care for the Schaffhausen region. Annually, we care for approximately 11,000 inpatients and 90,000 outpatients. Furthermore, we are an important training center in the canton.
Are you working in a care role and want to complete your training as a nursing professional or a Specialist in Health EFZ as an adult? Then apply to us for the next training start.
In this two-year training program, you will work on the geriatric rehabilitation and transition care ward of the Schaffhausen Cantonal Hospital to learn the tasks of a Specialist in Health. You will be accompanied and supported daily by your designated mentors. Additionally, you can focus on specific tasks during regular learning days with educational and subject matter experts. After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you will be excellently trained and able to perform the duties of a Specialist in Health independently.
All fees and expenses will be covered by us as the training provider.
Prerequisites for starting the training:
- Employment of 6 to 12 months at the Schaffhausen Cantonal Hospital, depending on professional experience
- This employment serves as a basis for an aptitude assessment by us to decide whether we recommend or admit you for adult education according to Art. 32 BBV

- Interesting nursing and medical-technical tasks
- Housekeeping and administrative activities
- Responsibility for the cleaning, disinfection, and functionality of instruments and apparatus, as well as for material procurement
What you will bring to us
- A minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience
- Older than 25 years
- Work commitment of at least 80% and a maximum of 100%, supplemented by one school day per week (20%)
- Good German language skills (minimum language level B2)
