Technician for Assembly of Telecom Networks (m/f/d)

Stadtwerke Karlsruhe Netzservice GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the municipal utility company, ensures the secure and reliable delivery of energy and drinking water to network customers. It operates the electricity and gas networks, acts as a technical service provider for water networks, and is a construction service provider for the district heating network. It also fulfills the tasks of a state-recognized testing center for electricity, gas, water, and heat. Further services for companies and the citizens of Karlsruhe include meter reading, collaboration with electricity, gas, and water installers, and the provision of plans for companies undertaking excavation work.

Stadtwerke Karlsruhe Netzservice GmbH also operates modern telecommunications networks (copper, fiber optic) in the Karlsruhe urban area. The Assembly/Network Operations Telecommunications department is responsible for passive network operations and is a partner to several network users. The previous primary focus was on operating a backbone network. In addition, they are building and operating FTTH networks.
The expansion of telecommunications networks is carried out in collaboration with the neighboring department (Construction of Conduit Networks and Cable Laying). Depending on capacity, assembly work is performed in-house or by service providers. The expansion of network level 4 is primarily carried out by service providers.

• Carrying out assembly work in telecommunications networks (fiber optic, copper) inside and outside buildings
• Creating documentation for the assembly work performed
• Conducting acceptance and operational measurements (OTDR, TDR, attenuation measurement, DSL)
• Troubleshooting in fiber optic and copper networks
• Participating in fault rectification (coordination and collaboration with service providers)
• Participating in the on-call duty roster (after onboarding)
• Acceptance and testing of construction and assembly services
• Performing maintenance work
• Creating measurement reports and maintaining operational documentation systems

• Completed apprenticeship as an electronics technician (m/f/d) or a comparable qualification
• Experience in the construction and operation of copper and fiber optic networks according to high-quality standards
• Experience with measurements in telecommunications networks is desirable
• Driving license class B, BE is an advantage
• Independent working style and a high degree of responsibility
• Willingness for further training and professional development and to participate in the on-call duty roster
• Willingness to be trained and to maintain software for the operational documentation of telecommunications networks
