Job description
We live IT.
Actually, we're not looking for an employee. We're looking for someone who has fun making IT with us.
We are a small team with a big passion for technology. Everything that beeps, flashes, can be virtualized or simply works after we've tinkered with it excites us. New technologies we prefer to try out ourselves rather than just reading about them.
Our customers rely on their IT running smoothly. That's why we're there when it matters – mostly via remote access, sometimes directly on site. Sometimes it's about servers, virtualization or networks, and sometimes we explain to a customer for the third time why the monitor really needs to be turned on. We call that 'caring work' – and most of the time we can laugh about it afterwards.
We don't have corporate structures or long decision-making processes. We work together uncomplicatedly, communicate directly, and help each other out – whether in the office, home office, or on the road.
And yes: When we feel like it, we go out with customers or other IT folks for a Chinese meal or to grab a steak. Not because that's prescribed anywhere, but because we get along well.
If you think 'What's going to break today?' instead of 'Monday again', then we might just fit together pretty well.
In short: We live IT. Not just between 8 and 17 o'clock.
Aufgaben
Every day is different – that's why the job at our place is fun.
You're the first point of contact when a customer's IT decides to develop its own life.
The majority of problems can be solved via remote access, but if it makes more sense to drive directly to the customer and get the technology up and running again, you'll do that too.
You install and maintain Windows clients, Windows servers, Microsoft 365, and everything else that belongs in a modern IT environment.
You take care of virtualization with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
You set up networks, configure switches, firewalls, WLAN, and VPN connections, and find the error even when others have given up.
You swap out hardware, accompany rollouts, and implement small IT projects at our customers' sites.
You make sure data backups work, updates aren't forgotten, and our customers' IT remains secure.
You document your work in a way that's easy to follow – so your colleagues know what you've done (and not just you yourself 😉).
If a problem appears for the third time, you don't just fix the symptoms; you try to find the underlying cause.
You don't have to know everything. But you should be eager to learn new things.
If you want to understand why something's broken instead of just restarting it, you'll feel at home with us.
In short: You make sure our customers can work without worrying about their IT.
Qualifikation
You don't have to know everything – but you should be eager to learn something new every day.
A training as a Fachinformatiker for Systemintegration or a comparable IT training would be super. If you've acquired your knowledge in another way and are technically fit, we'd love to get to know you too.
You feel comfortable in Windows environments and have ideally already worked with Microsoft 365, VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, or network technology.
You like to dig deeper into problems and won't be satisfied with 'Restarting fixed it'.
You can handle customers just as well as you can handle technology. You can explain things clearly, act friendly, and remain calm even when the pressure is on.
You speak and write good German, because our customers want to understand what you're explaining – and your colleagues appreciate clear tickets. Yes, we know: documentation isn't the most exciting part of the job. Nevertheless, it's part of it.
You have a Class B driver's license and don't mind driving occasionally to our customers' sites.
And the most important thing: You enjoy IT, are curious, and fit in with us on a personal level. Everything else can be learned.
Benefits
A small team where you know each other and support each other – not just on paper.
Eigenverantwortung instead of micromanagement. We trust that you can do your job.
Mixed tasks. No two days are alike, and that's exactly what we like about it.
Home office is part of our work sometimes – when the day and task fit together.
We have modern working tools, notebooks, and technology that lets you work sensibly.
We like to try out new technologies. If something interests us, we don't just watch videos about it – we usually test it ourselves first.
Short decision-making processes. Good ideas don't need to go through five meetings at our place.
Continuing education doesn't just happen in a seminar room but every day with customers and the team.
A refrigerator is available. A fruit bowl exists more rarely – but we do order burgers, pizza, or something from the Chinese restaurant when the day gets longer or we simply feel like it.
We're allowed to laugh at our place. Even about the customer who reports a 'server failure' because their monitor is turned off – of course, after we've helped them out.
And if we spend time with customers or other IT folks having dinner at a steakhouse after work, it's not because someone organized it – but because we simply enjoy each other's company.
In short: We spend a big part of our lives working. Therefore, it should be fun too.
If you want to know in the morning which customer will claim 'I didn't do anything today' again, then you'll probably feel at home with us.
